I have three exams to “revise” for, so naturally I thought
it would be a good use of my time to blog…and watch Gone with the Wind for the
first time (why didn’t anyone ever tell me it was 4 HOURS long?!). In appreciation of all things short,
sweet, and to the point, I’m going to try to give the Cliff Notes version of
Naples, Italy. Naturally, our
train was delayed an hour. We were planning on going to Pompeii, but we had to
postpone our plans because of the delay. Luckily, I was able to see Michelle,
whose cruise was stopped in Naples for the day. (Side note: Gone with the Wind
just reached intermission….movies should not be long enough for
intermissions!!) Naples was possibly the dirtiest city I have ever been in, but
it’s used as a take-off point for the cities around it. The next day we went to
Sorrento (beautiful city) and Pompeii (ancient city... Margy entertained us by taking us on a tour of the city House Hunters International style). On the way back the only thing on my mind was “cheeseburger
cheeseburger cheeseburger” so I caved in and went to the first cheeseburger
place we saw…McDonalds. Later, Margy and I made up for it by having our first
cannolis (I felt a connection to Joey from Friends—it was amazing!).
